      A portrait in ink. I've found myself doing many more portraits and figures over the past few months. So, the handful of regular visitors to the blog will be seeing more people in my art than cars or landscapes if you haven't already. I am, however, trying to remedy that at least on the landscape side. We'll see how that works out.

      You might have noticed my recent posts have been of older pieces. I've been out of commission for a few days. I spent over a week fighting an inner ear infection that left me dizzy and barely able to sit upright. Then the prednisone prescribed to fight that also made me dizzy, disoriented and somewhat manic. Seeing things move has been giving me headaches. So it's been nearly impossible to paint. The virus is gone and I've finished the medication. But, if you've ever had steroids before, you know they can take a few days to get completely out of your system.

      Frankly, I can't wait. I've got several pieces ready to go that I'm excited about. And, I continue to study the work of British watercolor masters, especially John Yardley, and am trying to incorporate the lessons learned into my own work to develop a looser, more impressionistic style.
