Bicycle #3 - gouache

gouache, 2015
NFS, 11"x15"

I love where this one went. I knew gouache could be used to duplicate the look of oils without the fumes, danger and technical mumbo-jumbo. And, that's sort of where I've been heading. But, this one blows me away. It just fell into place.

Sidewalk Reader - watercolor

watercolor, 2015
available, 9"x12"

This is from a reference photo I took a couple Saturdays back in Asheboro NC. This one is on the small side because I painted it over the course of a few lunch hours at work. It looks a little empty to me now that it's finished. I left out some clutter behind the seated man because it was -- well -- clutter. I might try this one again in a larger size and leave in some of the clutter. I'm pretty happy with it otherwise.  It's definitely a step in the direction I want to take. Prints, of course, are available here.

Westchester Work Trucks #2 - watercolor

watercolor, 2015
11"x15" available

Here's another view of the trucks I painted previously here. I think the composition works even with the closest truck dead center because the red truck puts more weight on the left to make it asymmetrical.

I still occasionally dabble in pastels, though I haven't in a long while.
